Robot and humanoid joints live and die on their gearing. The actuator has to move with low backlash, low noise, and predictable accuracy, and hold that performance over millions of cycles in a tight, lightweight package.

INSCO makes the precision gears inside those actuators. Our core fit is the geared reduction stage: planetary gear sets, internal ring gears, and AGMA 15 ground spur and helical gears, along with the pinions and shafts that go with them. We can also build and test a complete gearbox sub-assembly, so you can source a working geared unit from one place.

Humanoid and advanced robotics is a young, fast-moving field. We support it the way it actually develops, from a single prototype and design iteration through to production volumes, backed by in-house engineering and reverse engineering when you are working from a sample.

Pinions, integral pinion shafts, and gear shafts, including teeth cut directly on the shaft for compact actuator packaging.

Gearbox Sub-Assembly & Test

We can assemble the gearing with its supporting components and functionally test the unit, so you receive a working geared sub-assembly rather than loose parts.

No. We specialize in the precision gearing used in planetary and parallel-axis actuators. We don't produce harmonic flexsplines or circular splines, or cycloidal discs. If your actuator uses a planetary reduction stage or a geared output, that's exactly our wheelhouse.
